- In general, the GEM module in Ford F150 is present on the backside of the fuse box.
- Again Ford is playing with people's lives all they care about is the dollars. The body control module, or the bcm, on the 2010 ford f150 is located under the dashboard on the driver side towards the center of the vehicle. Took vehicle to dealer and there was a TSB to relocate the fuel pump driver fuse because they say it gets hot and shorts out( if that's the case it shouldn't do it right after initial start up). Someone is going to get killed with this problem. Ford knows about the problem, every Ford forum talks about the problem especially when it comes to the ecoboost. Then on the same evening it did it again and in traffic this time and with no where to pull over. Pulled on shoulder and shut vehicle off, restarted after a few minutes again after the restart no problems ( no check engine light either time). The 2nd time I was getting ready to get on the interstate and truck did the same thing started running rough, no throttle response and wrench light came on again. Pulled off road, turned off, after a few minutes restarted truck and no problems the rest of the day. Mdf.ģ times this has happened, 1st time I had just filled up went to pull off and proceeded to get on highway, truck started to run rough and had no throttle response and wrench light came on. I was told that this fuse is the one for the fuel pump. I have attempted to contact Ford about this issue but their automated system does not offer a path to report issues. With that being said, I feel that this issue should have been placed into a recall due to the danger that I encountered with the vehicle shutting off while on interstate and major highway with no indications of issues. The technician did indicate to me that this has happened several times that he was aware of.
When the vehicle was not causing the immediate issue it was running fine with no problems indicated. The truck did not leave any error codes or indications to issue. After trouble shooting and vehicle shutting off on the technician, they were able to trace the use down that is pictured.
The first time was a local shop due to know dealerships close by, second time I was close to mtn view Ford in chattanooga, TN. After each occurence I took vehicle to a mechanic to check vehicle. Both times I was able to coast the vehicle to side of the road or parking lot to re start vehicle.
Second occurrence was when I was driving in heavy afternoon traffic on us hwy 27 in rossville, GA. My first occurrence was while attempting to accelerate onto interstate 24 in chattanooga,TN. (all of which occurred between the dates of sept 13 and 18, 2019) my f150 engine shutdown while driving. On 2 separate occasions with me and 1 occasion with a Ford service tech.
